NYCHA Residents Graduate from the Resident Leadership Academy

In June, eight ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ graduated from the Resident Leadership Academy (RLA), a free program that helped emerging NYCHA resident leaders strengthen their leadership skills and become more active in civic life at their developments and in their communities. The graduates received a Certificate in Community Leadership from the (SLU). Over the course of two years, RLA participants earned 16 college credits by completing four courses at SLU: Intro to Public Housing, Community Organizing, Intro to Nonprofit Leadership, and Research Seminar on Public Policy. The RLA was a partnership between NYCHA and the SLU and was funded by the New York City Council.
